Let your agent handle the envelopes
Dura has a JSON API and a one-file command line tool. Point Hermes, Claude Code, Codex, a custom GPT or your own app at your household, and it can read the table, record spends and cash-ins, and turn receipt photos into entries, with the same rules as the app.
Three steps
-
Make a token
In Dura, open Settings, then Your account, then Apps and agents. Name the token after what will use it. It's shown once.
-
Give it the CLI or the API
Agents with a shell install one file:
curl -fsSL https://dura.muchiround.com/cli/dura -o ~/.local/bin/dura chmod +x ~/.local/bin/duraAnything that speaks HTTP uses
https://dura.muchiround.com/api/v1. -
Hand over the instructions
Paste this into your agent. The file teaches it the commands and the house rules.
Guides and reference
- Connect your AI agent to Dura Three steps: make a token, give the agent the CLI or the API, paste the instructions.
- API quickstart: your first spend in five requests Token, table, spend, check, undo. Five requests with curl.
- The dura command line One Ruby file. Human output on a terminal, JSON for agents.
- API reference Endpoints, objects, errors and the rules every client follows.
- Recipes for agents The grocery run, the weekly check-in, month end, importing history.
Built so an agent can't make a mess
- Same ledger as the app. Every write goes through the same checks as a tap on the phone. Balances, IOUs and your partner's live view stay right.
- Safe retries. Send an idempotency key and a retried request replays the first answer instead of recording the spend twice.
- Nothing is deleted. Mistakes are undone with a mirror entry, so the history always adds up.
- Your household only. A token sees the households its owner belongs to and nothing else. Revoke it any time from the same list.
