The weekly email and weekly check-in
Every Monday the coach leaves a short check-in on your table. From this release it also comes to your inbox. Each Monday morning, every member of a shared household gets one short email: the week's check-in, how much cash is in the envelopes, how each envelope is doing against its budget, what needs topping up and what you spent last week. It is a good way to start a weekly money talk, even on a week when nobody opened the app.
What's new
- A Monday email per household. The subject reads "Your week at" and your household's name. If you share more than one household, you get one email for each.
- The week's check-in. The coach's insight for the week, the same one that appears on your table. It is left out if there isn't one, or if it was dismissed on the table.
- Your envelopes at a glance. Cash in envelopes, what is in the piggy and how close it is to the goal, then each envelope with what is left and what has been spent against its budget, marked "over budget" or "nearly spent" where it applies.
- Needs topping up. The envelopes that need more cash to cover the month, and how much.
- Last week. What was spent from Monday to Sunday, and in how many spends.
- Still owed between envelopes. Any open IOUs, so they don't get forgotten.
- One-click unsubscribe, in every email, with no sign-in needed.
How to use it
- Do nothing: the weekly email is on for everyone to start with.
- To stop it, open Settings, find "Weekly email" and tap "Turn off weekly email". Tap "Turn on weekly email" to bring it back.
- Or use the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any weekly email, then tap "Unsubscribe" on the page it opens.
- Tap "Open Dura" in the email to go straight to your table.
Good to know
- It goes out on Monday at about 7am in your household's time zone.
- Only shared households with at least one entry send it. Your private pocket and the sample household never do, and nothing from your pocket appears in the email.
- One switch covers every household you belong to.
- The email lists up to 12 envelopes, then "and" the number of others.
- Since 28 October, the check-in is written by AI only when at least one member of the household has said yes to AI, and the email says "AI wrote this" next to it. See Your privacy: consent, AI controls, Terms and Privacy.
